World's Most Powerful Wireless Headphone Amplifier

About the Project

It is believed that Hi-Fi audio quality and a carefree, wireless listening experience make up the perfect music indulgence. Yet for a very long time, technical limitations have inevitably caused sound quality to be sacrificed to some extent when going wireless. Well, that’s not the case anymore, you can now have both with AQUA+!

Reality Check

  • Claim:

    Turn your favorite headphones wireless

  • Reality:

With the addition of bluetooth tech to the AQUA+, this allows for the ability to break the wired connection from the headphones to the source of audio.

  • Claim:

Amplify audio sources for HiFi quality performance (32 bit 384 K)

  • Reality:

The possibility of the claim is a reality. The questions that the end user should ask are in the realm of actually utilizing the functions that are claimed. It is impossible for the AQUA+ to "upgrade" lower quality sound that is coming through a connected device. So for the feature to work properly, an end user would need to be connected to a device that is already playing 32 bit music.

Something To Think About

At a price point of around $100 and even higher, the question is whether this is worth it and if the backer will be connecting to a software or device playing 32 bit sound. If not, there are potentially cheaper ways to make wired headphones "wireless."

  • Claim:

    Compatible with Multiple operating systems

  • Reality:

With bluetooth as a component, the AQUA+ is capable of connecting to different operating systems.

Bottom Line

AQUA+ is a device that is basic in its electronic design. There is not much complexity for the AQUA+ and it has a straightforward function. Consider the fact that this amplifier will not convert lower quality sound into higher quality sound. Also, there are other options for making a wired headphone into a "wireless" bluetooth headphone. The actual need for a device like this is limited to the true audiophiles who are pairing a 32 bit music player to the AQUA+ and then playing the 32 bit sound through high quality headphones, not just generic earphones.
