Interactive Meditation

About the Project

Study after study has shown that meditation is one of the best methods for dealing with the rigors and challenges caused by our chaotic, distracted world. A wide variety of different meditation forms and techniques have been practiced for centuries, and meditation has acquired many different meanings over the years. We believe that all methods of meditation can be beneficial. However, many people do find traditional methods hard to learn and challenging to maintain.

Reality Check

  • Claim:

Regular practice with Unyte can ultimately lead to a calmer and more focused mind and body, which, as part of a healthy lifestyle, may help reduce the risk of or help living well with certain health conditions.

  • Reality:

The practice of meditation is a proven action that produces positive results for health. Unyte is attempting to introduce a practical way to meditate while using existing tech and software. As with all health devices or projects the end result is dependent on the user and commitment level that also vary tremendously.

  • Claim:

By combining biofeedback technology with immersive digital & VR experiences, we make meditation easier to learn, fun and measurable. Think of interactive meditation as a “vacation for your mind”.

  • Reality:

Making meditation easier, fun, and measurable is an ambitious statement. However, with utilizing devices that are readily available (mostly) and familiar, Unyte attempts to creatively make meditation more accessible for more users.

  • Claim:

The iom2 is a high fidelity, low cost biofeedback device that connects to the body by ear clip, capturing real-time data on the body’s physiological state.

  • Reality:

Taking the heart rate in the ear, is one of the most reliable ways to get accurate readings. The iom2 is a device that takes advantage of this accuracy. The real-time data that is being collected here is nothing intricate. Practically, it is simply a heart rate monitor, which is not something revolutionary. However, Unyte is claiming that the iom2 is created with the anticipation of additional sensors being added in the future.

  • Claim:

We’ve conducted a full research literature review with over 33 pages of abstracts of research articles that are associated with Unyte products and show the benefits of interactive meditation.

  • Reality:

The additional references of articles that support the studies of biofeedback and meditation point out the potential benefits of Unyte.

Something To Think About

Although the articles are helpful and specific, be aware that the articles mentioned are not in specific relation to Unyte, but instead for the general practice of interactive meditation.

Bottom Line

Biofeedback and interactive meditation is an emerging industry that is backed by research and positive results. Unyte, after re-branding from Wild Divine, is attempting to be a leader of the immersive meditation market. Jason Tafler has a positive history with experience in fields that can help launch Unyte. The Unyte concept has a hefty price point but offers a fulfilling package to potentially help promote healthy lifestyles. The iom2 is a device that is designed with future additions, but those additions are not guaranteed as they have yet to be developed.
