Reality Check

  • Claim:

"YOU CAN STILL HEAR WHAT'S GOING ON AROUND YOU!"

  • Reality:

Bone conduction technology is an existent tech that has great application for instances like water activity that would allow the user to hear both the vibration and the ambient noise at the same time.

Something To Think About

Volume level does still affect the ability to hear ambient sound, bone conduction devices allow for less obstruction of surrounding noise.

  • Claim:

"FUNCTIONS LIKE OUR OTHER GREAT TAYOGO PRODUCTS"

  • Reality:

Tayogo has a history of product releases that have proven the functions mentioned here.

Something To Think About

Consider that when using any bone conducting wireless device, if used in and underwater, connectivity success drops drastically. FM, Bluetooth, and WIFI are not conducted well under water and will affect the devices function. Internal storage of music and audio files would not be affected under water.

  • Claim:

    "Waterproof"

  • Reality:

With an IPX 8 rating, this is beneficial for in water use. However, please be aware that waterproof is technically not the right use of word. The more appropriate use of word is water resistant. Water resistance means that a device can hold out water until a certain amount of pressure from concordant depth under water compromises the seal.

  • Claim:

    "Comfort"

  • Reality:

The advantage of bone conduction is that having an internal ear piece is not necessary. However, these devices do require enough pressure to conduct vibrations into the bone, and the Tayogo does not have an adjustable band which could potentially cause lack of comfort for some.

  • Claim:

    "Compact design"

  • Reality:

The Tayogo has a minimal design without an abundance of moving parts, allowing for a compact design.

  • Claim:

"Our proprietary app, allows you to manage all the music on your 8 GB system."

  • Reality:

This is a newly built app that will require a small learning curve, but will also allow the user to set playlists and manage data internally before and after use.

Bottom Line

The Tayogo Force Conduction Bluetooth Headset mp3/FM is a minimally designed device that adds a competitive option to a young but existing market. Tayogo has a record that is visible on Amazon for several different products. The bone conduction headset is a great option for athletic and water activities, and potentially for a lot more.
