"About the Project" and "Claims" content are taken from the campagin as is.

Reality Check

  • Claim:

Chunky Rough Stuff Wheels for easy cruising on poor tarmac

  • Reality:

The multi-terrain wheels are a progressive addition to the electric long board market. At 110mm diameter, the Rough Stuff Wheels are substantially larger than the average electric longboard wheel size, and also. This allows for terrain that is typically difficult for standard wheels.

  • Claim:

Swap out the Rough Stuff Wheels for Road Wheels

  • Reality:

A creative feature that adds a straightforward option for changing out wheels for different terrain, with potential ease.

Something To Think About

Slick Revolution has specifically designed these wheels in house, both pairs. The variable with this is an unproven history of durability and function for these wheels. They are designed to limit debris from disrupting the belt, which could be advantageous.

  • Claim:

Flexible deck and battery case for a comfortable ride.

  • Reality:

The Flex-Eboard is designed to produce the flex necessary for a comfortable ride, which is even more necessary for difficult roads.

  • Claim:

Swap out the deck easily for new designs

  • Reality:

The ability to switch out the deck is an option that matches industry standard.

  • Claim:

    "Unrivalled ride comfort"

  • Reality:

This is a bold claim as there are several other competitors that have comparable designs. The attention to ride comfort is important and a positive, however there are many variables that play into this claim.

Bottom Line

Slick Revolution is not new to the market when it comes to electronic longboards, and have several other products on the market. SR has reviews of good customer service, and for US backers, please note that they are based in the UK. SR has made progress with manufacturing and self admittedly attempted to make pivots to keep quality high. With a record of successful working boards the Flex-Eboard allows the possibility of a smooth ride for difficult terrain with solid performance. Their comparisons to competitors stack up in a lot of ways, but some of the speeds are not represented accurately and the charge time of 3 hours for the Flex-Eboard is significantly longer than direct competitors.
