Reality Check

  • Claim:

Compact: 75% smaller than traditional solar power systems

  • Reality:

This claim is ambiguous and does not have clear parameters for what it is compared against.

  • Claim:

    Compatibility: Add external battery banks

  • Reality:

Charging additional battery banks that you have is definitely a possibility but also possible with any solar charging device.

  • Claim:

    Modular: Connect additional "ennygo's"

  • Reality:

The device is an all in one model, so connecting them is theoretically possible, but seems to defeat some of the purpose.

  • Claim:

  • Reality:

The EnnyGo weighs in at 40lbs which, in comparison, is hard to categorize as lightweight.

Something To Think About

A battery bank provided by a leading established company that can charge a laptop 6.5 times weighs in at a little over 10 lbs. The major weight of the EnnyGo is the battery, and already existing tech for battery weight is progressively much lighter.

Bottom Line

Enny: The New Generation of Solar Energy is a project that claims to be the most lightweight, expandable, compact, modular, and cutest solar system. These bold claims in an industry that has a solid group of already existing companies and manufacturers are very risky. The idea behind the Enny is a good one, and the claim of 10% of all proceeds going to help others, is admirable. However the technology of the EnnyGO seems to not line up with where the current tech is.
