Bean 3D Printer
The Ultimate Consumer SLA 3D Printer
About the Project
The Bean 3D printer from Kudo3D is a high resolution, affordable, and reliable resin SLA printer created with the consumer in mind. With consumers in mind, we determined that the new printer must be compact and stylish. The green cover was designed to make it easier to be blended into an everyday environment. In line with the theme "green," the Bean's light source is made from LEDs, resulting in a greener energy consumption and longer lifetime. The two edges were rounded off to reflect the shape of a bean. In the end, we dubbed the printer the "Bean" to reflect the compactness and greenish qualities of the printer. (Internally, we nicknamed it Green Bean!) To bring the cost down, we combine our PSP technology with an ultra-high resolution LCD panel. With this came the birth of Kudo3D's Bean 3D printer.

Self-leveling for 3D Printers is beginning to be an industry standard, especially at the price point of the Bean 3D Printer.
High Resolution (Comparable to DLP 3D Printers)
The Bean 3D Printer falls into the range comparable to DLP printers in the context of resolution.
The resin container is a modified version of the PSP (passive self-peeling)
The Kudo3D team uses the PSP resin container in current gen 3D Printers. This has a proven track record and does not require use of unkown technology.
We will start developing an integrated version after Kickstarter campaign.
Although this is great in theory, there are no guarantees to when this will happen and if it will happen.
Bean can be controlled and monitored by mobile devices.
The software is controlled by browser, which has been previously mentioned. This would allow usage to be guided through mobile devices.
Something To Think About
The control for mobile usage, would be potentially limited at first and does not claim to have full fledged control over the details of each build.
Kudo3D has a successful track record and has proven they can successfully launch a campaign. The bean 3D Printer introduces a thoughtfully designed product to the world of 3D Printing while keeping the price range reachable. Although this price range is attractive for the overall machine, the resin is $95 per kilogram (each color), and the FEP film (which cost $7 a piece) will need to be replaced every 20-50 prints. The size of the machine and platform size is small, so be aware that this is not a large printer. Once the resin has been used, the lifespan is shortened, and could potentially contaminate if combined with fresh resin.
