The Fastest MOLLE Connection System On Earth

About the Project

MOLLE straps, by design, are hard to use. Ripstay turns that on its ear. With Ripstay, you can strategically customize your kit, adapt to every mission, and experience the lightning fast disconnect capabilities Ripstay provides. If you use MOLLE or PALS gear, Ripstay is for you.

Reality Check

  • Claim:

    Strategically customize your kit

  • Reality:

In everyday use, whether medical, law enforcement, or combat, the backside of a typical plate carrier or backpack using the MOLLE system is wasted space since the user has very limited personal access to the item. The Ripstay allows for the balancing of weight as well as easy access for the user. Modular features for the MOLLE system are maximized with the use of the Ripstay.

Something To Think About

Unnecessary fatigue and an imbalanced load distribution can be caused by warfighters using only the front and side of plate carriers. This oftentime results in back and neck injuries, especially in the physically demanding elements of combat. "According to Army Col. Steven Cohen, MD, of Johns Hopkins, only 86.7% of Iraq and Afghanistan soldiers who are evacuated due to back pain never return to their unit, highlighting how serious back injuries are for the modern warfighter."

  • Claim:

    The Fastest MOLLE Connection Solution

  • Reality:

Claiming to be the fastest or greatest is always a difficult claim and typically difficult to back, especially without direct comparison. What truly sets the Ripstay apart is the single fluid motion activating two or more vertical stays. The Ripstay closely beats out loosely similar competitors known as MOLLE Sticks or Speed Clips designed for the MOLLE or PALS system, because of their limitations to a singular strap.

  • Claim:

    Adapt to every mission

  • Reality:

A broad claim, but within the context of loadout for a mission, the Ripstay makes it easier to customize gear for each occasion. The Ripstay eliminates the difficulty previously presented by the archaic straps.

Bottom Line

Ripstay successfully streamlines the outdated MOLLE system by clever ingenuity, functional design, and detailed testing. There are many reasons why the Ripstay is a solid option for different occasions but the main one is ease of use. With a Ripstay, the customization and load-balancing of gear is extremely practical compared to the annoyance of using the MOLLE or PALS system without them. Garrett and Martin make a solid team, building momentum off of recent Kickstarter success of Garrett's Draggin Bags lineage. Keep in mind there are vague competitors currently on the market that are potentially suited for smaller gear, but Ripstay is dedicated to making their product faster, higher quality, and in the U.S.A.
